The casting process is almost wrapped as we review footage from the reads we had at Ripley Grier Studios. We had a balanced crop of talent come out, all of whom are down for our dark sci-fi epic!  The final cast list will be released as soon as all the contracts come back. It hasn’t been an easy process and I actually got so stressed out about it that I ended up getting sick after the first round of auditions. I am not good at the process. I know who I want to work with, but never quite sure of the capacity I want to work with them. In addition, I have a hard time saying ‘no’ and get nervous when I tell an actor their read was great, but that I want to offer them a small role. In my experience most actors don’t go for the smaller roles because they felt insulted. However, I’m hoping out project has stood out enough that they all feel it’s a worthwhile endeavor regardless of the part. We’ll see who’s game.

The enormously helpful LAUREN MELEY has taken one many of the producing tasks for this project. We previously collaborated on the short film CAROLINE OF VIRGINIA and it made sense that our next project be a feature.  One thing I can tell you about THE SPACESHIP is that it’s going to be a phenomenal film with a phenomenal cast of NYC Theater, Film and TV actors. Our stars and producers are going to hit this story home for all of us as they are enormously talented and passionate about the project. There is going to no other film like this one and I cannot wait to start filming.
